About The Position

Walmart is hiring an Exterior Services Technician - DOT Operator to maintain retail grounds and exterior areas year-round. The role involves landscaping and grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and pruning, as well as evaluating landscaping needs and implementing sustainable upgrades. The technician works with other associates and follows safety, security, integrity, corporate, and regulatory requirements. The position is based at 21200 Olhava Way NW, Poulsbo, WA 98370-9457.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years old.
• Have a valid state-issued driver's license.
• Have the ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Have no DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless-driving convictions involving alcohol or drugs within the last three years.
• Have no more than two moving violations in the last three years if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
• Have no serious traffic violations or preventable accidents in the last three years if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
• Successfully complete a pre-hire DOT physical and obtain medical certification.
• Have two years of experience in the landscaping or gardening industry.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to maintain a Medical Examiner’s Certification card valid for at least 90 days.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or a related area.
• Experience in third-party management.
• Experience using intermediate-level word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software, such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in speaking and understanding Spanish.
• State or local licensing where required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct grounds maintenance in parking lots, around exterior buildings, and in surrounding areas to uphold cleanliness standards.
• Work with fellow associates on landscaping and exterior maintenance.
• Follow safety, security, and integrity protocols and comply with corporate policies and local, federal, and state regulations.
• Comply with OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines.
• Evaluate landscaping needs and implement sustainable upgrades.
• Perform landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, and pruning.
