About The Position

Walmart is hiring an Exterior Services Technician - DOT Operator to work with a team maintaining store grounds year-round. The role involves landscaping and exterior maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and pruning, to keep parking lots, exterior buildings, and surrounding areas clean and well maintained. The technician evaluates landscaping needs and implements sustainable upgrades while following company policies and applicable safety, security, integrity, OSHA, EPA, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age.
• Valid state-issued driver's license.
• Ability to read and speak English effectively.
• Clean driving record, with no DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving convictions involving alcohol or drugs within the last three years.
• If operating a commercial motor vehicle, no more than two moving violations in the last three years.
• If operating a commercial motor vehicle, no serious traffic violations or preventable accidents in the last three years.
• Successful completion of a DOT physical and pre-hire medical certification.
• Two years of experience in the landscaping or gardening industry.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to maintain a Medical Examiner’s Certification card valid for at least 90 days.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent in engineering, maintenance, construction management, or a related area.
• Experience in third-party management.
• Intermediate proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in speaking and understanding Spanish.
• State or local licensing where required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds in parking lots, around exterior buildings, and in surrounding areas to uphold cleanliness standards.
• Work with fellow associates on landscaping and exterior maintenance.
• Mow, trim, and prune to maintain the exterior environment.
• Evaluate landscaping needs and implement sustainable upgrades.
• Follow safety, security, and integrity protocols and comply with company policies and applicable local, federal, and state requirements, including OSHA and EPA guidelines.
