About The Position

Walmart is hiring an Exterior Services Technician - DOT Operator to work on a team maintaining store grounds year-round. The role includes mowing, trimming, pruning, and performing grounds maintenance in parking lots, around exterior buildings, and in surrounding areas. The technician works with other associates to maintain landscaping and exterior areas, evaluate landscaping needs, and implement sustainable upgrades while following safety, security, and integrity protocols and applicable corporate policies and regulations.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Have a valid state-issued driver's license.
• Be able to read and speak English.
• Have no DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless-driving convictions involving alcohol or drugs within the last three years.
• If driving a commercial motor vehicle, have no more than two moving violations in the last three years.
• If operating a commercial motor vehicle, have no serious traffic violations, as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, in the last three years.
• If operating a commercial motor vehicle, have no preventable accidents, as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, in the last three years.
• Successfully complete a pre-hire DOT physical and obtain medical certification.
• Have two years of experience in the landscaping or gardening industry.

Nice To Haves

• Maintain a minimum 90-day Medical Examiner’s Certification (MEC) card after successfully completing a DOT physical and obtaining medical certification during pre-hire contingency.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or a related area.
• Experience in third-party management.
• Intermediate-level experience with word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software, such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in speaking and understanding Spanish.
• State or local licensing where required, such as in Florida, Texas, or California.

Responsibilities

• Conduct grounds maintenance in parking lots, around exterior buildings, and in surrounding areas to uphold cleanliness standards.
• Work alongside fellow associates on landscaping and exterior maintenance.
• Follow safety, security, and integrity protocols and comply with corporate policies and applicable local, federal, and state requirements.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines.
• Evaluate landscaping needs and implement sustainable upgrades.
• Mow, trim, and prune to maintain the exterior environment.
