Technical Product Manager - Payouts
About The Position
Félix is hiring a Product Manager for its Payouts Platform, a shared service that enables products to send money from the US to Latin America and other markets through bank transfers, instant payment rails, wallets, cards, cash networks, and crypto rails. The role owns the platform’s vision, roadmap, and results, with the goal of making payouts fast, reliable, and low-cost in every market served. The Product Manager will develop the platform as a self-serve capability for product teams; determine which markets, payout rails, and partners to prioritize; and lead the platform side of launches with FX, Compliance, and Treasury. The role also shapes partner and routing strategy, improves payout success, speed, and cost, reduces manual handling of failed and returned payouts, and gives product teams real-time visibility. Working with Engineering, Operations, Compliance, Treasury, and product teams, the PM will define service commitments and report on payout performance. Engineering owns delivery.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of product management experience, including at least 2 years in payments, payouts, or money movement products.
- Experience owning a platform or API product whose primary customers were other teams or developers.
- Understanding of payout rails and partners, including settlement timing, returns, failure modes, and partner SLAs.
- Track record of taking third-party integrations from evaluation to production with engineering and commercial teams.
- Comfort with SQL and defining and tracking reliability and cost metrics.
- Ability to explain trade-offs clearly to engineers, operations teams, and executives.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with crypto or stablecoin rails for payouts or settlement.
- Working knowledge of payments compliance, such as sanctions screening and transaction monitoring.
- Experience with Latin American payout rails, such as SPEI, PIX, or ACH-style bank transfers.
Responsibilities
- Set the Payouts Platform vision and roadmap, balancing new capabilities, reliability, and cost.
- Build a shared, self-serve payouts capability that product teams can adopt without rebuilding payouts.
- Prioritize markets and payout rails, and lead the platform side of launches with FX, Compliance, and Treasury.
- Define payout partner requirements, evaluate partner performance, and determine which partners to integrate with or route more volume to.
- Work with Business Development on partner decisions for new capabilities; Business Development owns commercial relationships.
- Improve routing and validation strategies to increase payout success and speed while lowering cost per payout.
- Prioritize improvements that reduce manual handling of failed and returned payouts, working with Operations and the Ops Platform.
- Provide product teams with real-time visibility into payouts.
- Coordinate with Compliance on screening, Treasury on liquidity, and product teams on the experiences built on the platform.
- Define reliability and performance commitments for product teams and prioritize work with Engineering to meet them.
- Report on payout success, speed, and cost.
