Technical Machine Trainer

About The Position

The Technical Machine Trainer provides customer training on the operation and maintenance of GROB equipment. The role requires learning how machines function and are maintained, then teaching customers how to operate and care for the equipment and associated processes. The trainer delivers instruction at customer machines or in classroom settings, explains technical information, and answers questions. The position involves travel to customer facilities, with travel of up to 75% and domestic and international travel expected.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Technical Communications, Teaching, EET, or MET, or three years of training experience in a technical field.
Strong mechanical or electrical aptitude.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Self-motivated and able to work as a team player.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 2010 and Adobe Acrobat.
Willing to work overtime as needed.
Willing to travel domestically and internationally.

Nice To Haves

Teaching background and/or technical training experience.
Knowledge of industrial machine safety.
PLC training.

Responsibilities

Verbally train groups at a machine or in a classroom, clearly explaining ideas and answering questions.
Read and interpret technical procedures and documents, including engineering drawings, electrical and fluid schematics, parts lists, and specifications, to develop operating, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures.
Select photographs, drawings, sketches, and diagrams to illustrate material that meets customer requirements.
Edit, standardize, or revise material prepared by other trainers.
Travel to customer facilities to train customers on the proper use and care of custom GROB equipment.
