About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL team driver in Laredo, Texas. Drivers deliver auto parts in a 53-foot dry van to Hebron, Kentucky, twice a week, with a weekly home schedule. Freight is no-touch. The position uses a super-sleeper tractor, and drivers must be able to operate a manual transmission. Hazmat endorsement is preferred but not required. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, with dispatch at 11:00 PM on Tuesday. Drivers earn a weekly guarantee of $1,650 and are paid weekly. A quarterly safety bonus pays $300 four times a year. Ryder provides paid training and well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, along with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. The role involves operating safely and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, identifying and minimizing safety hazards, maintaining accurate records and logs, and loading or unloading freight or assisting with those tasks if required by the customer. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have a Class A CDL and verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to operate a manual transmission.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Hazmat endorsement is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
Perform other duties as assigned.
