About The Position

The Team Member provides exceptional customer service while supporting the daily operations of a convenience store. The role assists customers with purchases, operates the point-of-sale system, maintains store cleanliness, stocks merchandise, and helps create a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment. All duties must be performed in accordance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations. The position is based at Jump Start 11 in Wichita, Kansas, and is part-time. It is performed in a convenience store environment, with regular exposure to varying temperatures, cleaning chemicals, food preparation equipment, moving merchandise, and outdoor weather conditions while maintaining the store and fuel islands. Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check in accordance with applicable law and company hiring standards.
Basic mathematical skills, including accurately counting money and making change.
Ability to learn and operate a POS system.
Professionalism, dependability, honesty, and strong customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Availability for a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as business needs require.
Ability to stand and walk for most of the scheduled shift.
Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally up to 75 pounds with assistance or appropriate equipment.
Frequently bend, kneel, squat, stoop, twist, reach above shoulder level, and reach below the knees.
Ability to safely climb and descend ladders or step stools.
Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements associated with equipment operation, stocking, and cleaning.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous retail, convenience store, grocery, food service, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Greet customers courteously and professionally, assist with purchases, product inquiries, and concerns, and promote company initiatives, promotions, fresh food offerings, and the customer loyalty program.
Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and fellow team members.
Operate the POS system and process cash, card, and other approved payment transactions accurately.
Count money, provide correct change, balance the cash drawer, maintain transaction records, and safeguard company assets.
Stock and replenish merchandise, rotate inventory, and monitor freshness and expiration dates.
Assist with receiving deliveries, checking in vendors, and verifying invoices.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, cooler, restrooms, food service areas where applicable, employee work areas, and exterior property, including fuel dispensers, parking areas, sidewalks, grass islands, and trash receptacles.
Notify management promptly about maintenance concerns, equipment issues, and unsafe conditions.
Follow company safety procedures, OSHA standards, and applicable safety regulations; use required PPE when applicable.
Follow procedures for cleaning chemicals, spills, fuel-related incidents, and emergencies, and report injuries, accidents, hazards, or unsafe conditions to management immediately.
Comply with applicable food safety, age-restricted sales, and regulatory requirements.
Work independently and collaboratively, maintain reliable attendance and punctuality, and be available for a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as business needs require.
