About The Position

The Team Lead oversees and assists with the department’s day-to-day operations, supporting management by maintaining adequate staffing and recommending process improvements. The role leads and performs departmental work, monitors processes and staff performance, and helps ensure patient and physician needs are met. It also supports accurate, confidential patient data and works to reduce registration errors that can cause billing and collection delays or denials.

Requirements

Associate degree, or additional applicable experience in lieu of the degree.
Four years of experience with patient registration, admissions, authorization-referrals, or similar work.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree in a business- or healthcare-related field.
Four or more years of Patient Registration experience.
One year in a management role.

Responsibilities

Lead and perform tasks within the department.
Delegate tasks and establish goals and deadlines.
Analyze reports to monitor trends related to department processes.
Collaborate with supporting departments to meet patient and physician needs.
Maintain adequate staffing by assuming responsibilities as needed.
Review processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
Develop metrics and minimum standards.
Plan and develop systematic approaches to improve or maintain employee accuracy.
Collaborate with IS to ensure systems meet business operational needs.
Support management with assigned duties and department efficiencies.
Enforce, follow, and support processes, policies, and procedures, and ensure staff are updated when changes occur.
Monitor department processes, staff work schedules, time, and attendance.
Identify training needs and coach new and current employees.
Audit processes including patient access, cash collections, patient flow, admitting, and discharge functions.
Work registration errors to decrease denials and delays in billing and collections.
Ensure patient data is accurate and confidential.
