About The Position

Under the supervision of the Group Sales or Department Manager, the Team Lead gives daily direction to associates in a store department, including merchandise presentation, inventory control, pricing, sales enhancements, stocking, and customer service. The role supports firearm sales leadership and regulatory compliance, provides guidance on firearm safety and handling, and helps achieve departmental sales, gross margin, inventory shrinkage, and payroll goals. The Team Lead maintains a pleasant and productive shopping experience, supports staffing and training, schedules and coaches associates, and helps resolve customer and associate concerns. The role maintains product expertise, conducts product demonstrations, supports special events, and helps ensure accurate pricing, inventory, assortments, displays, signage, and advertised merchandise. The position also assists with supervisory responsibilities and helps customers make buying decisions while promoting applicable company programs. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
2 to 4 years of retail sales experience.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, and percentages.
Ability to read and analyze reports and effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, associates, customers, and the general public.
Ability to conduct meetings and presentations for groups.
Proficiency with PC-based word processing, spreadsheets, database management, electronic point-of-sale, and inventory management systems.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, associates, customers, and corporate staff.
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including standing or walking throughout a shift, occasional ladder or stair use, repetitive hand and wrist motions, occasional machinery or vehicle operation, lifting or moving objects, and occasional work in confined or noisy spaces.

Responsibilities

Support the Group Sales Manager or Department Manager in firearm sales leadership and compliance with ATF, state, local, and company requirements, including required firearm forms.
Guide Sales Outfitters in firearm safe handling, safety, operations, and customer experience standards.
Support departmental sales, gross margin, inventory shrinkage, and payroll goals.
Provide daily direction to department associates and prepare task lists.
Execute merchandising directives and maintain corporate plan-o-grams.
Help staff the department, participate in interviews and selection recommendations, coordinate training, contribute to performance appraisals, prepare weekly schedules, and coach and motivate associates.
Resolve customer and associate concerns with the Group Sales Manager or Department Manager and Human Resources Manager; maintain strong customer service results.
Maintain product expertise through ongoing training and conduct product demonstrations for staff.
Assist with special events, pricing and UPC integrity, product assortments, inventory accuracy, and the display, signing, and pricing of advertised items.
Assist with supervisory duties, including interviewing, training, planning and assigning work, evaluating performance, addressing complaints, resolving problems, and maintaining a positive, harassment-free work environment.
Assist customers in identifying and evaluating their needs, recommend products, and promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
Perform other duties as assigned.
