About The Position
This posting is for one unionized contractual appointment as a Teaching Assistant for EDKP 204 KPE F26. A Teaching Assistant is a Graduate Student employed to assist the Course Supervisor in a classroom environment. Teaching Assistant Positions are governed by the Collective Agreement between McGill University and the Association of Graduate Students Employed at McGill (AGSEM). The position is responsible for assessing students' peer- and self-evaluations of project deliverables throughout the semester, offering feedback on their project progress, and assisting the instructor with in-class exercises. The estimated total hours of work per term are 60.
Requirements
- Must be thorough, diligent and consistent.
- Must be responsible and willing to provide in-person (virtual) and real time feedback to students.
- Bachelor's degree in Physical and Health Education or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of social determinants of health.
- Working knowledge of health and physical education pedagogy.
- Strong writer and communicator.
- Authorized to work in Canada.
- Willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based/located.
- English communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
Responsibilities
- Assessing students' peer- and self-evaluations of project deliverables throughout the semester.
- Offering feedback on students' project progress.
- Assisting the instructor with in-class exercises.
