About The Position

This posting is for up to two unionized contractual appointments for a Teaching Assistant position in the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education for the course EDKP 330: Physical Activity & Public Health. A Teaching Assistant is a Graduate Student employed to assist the Course Supervisor in a classroom environment. Positions are governed by the Collective Agreement between McGill University and the Association of Graduate Students Employed at McGill (AGSEM). The primary duties include assessing students' peer- and self-evaluations of project deliverables, providing feedback on project progress, and assisting the instructor with in-class exercises. The role also involves grading assignments, replying to questions on exams and assignments, and assisting with invigilating midterm and final exams. Applicants must be authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in Quebec. McGill University is an English-language institution requiring English communication skills.

  • Must be thorough, diligent and consistent
  • Must be responsible and willing to provide in-person (virtual) and real time feedback to students
  • Graduate student (Kinesiology)
  • Authorized to work in Canada
  • Willing to work in the province of Quebec
  • English communication skills (verbally and in writing)

Nice To Haves

  • Good grounding in exercise physiology
  • Fluency in French
