About The Position
A Teaching Assistant is a Graduate Student employed to assist the Course Supervisor as a Teaching Assistant in a classroom environment. Teaching Assistant Positions are governed by the Collective Agreement between McGill University and the Association of Graduate Students Employed at McGill (AGSEM). This posting is for one unionized contractual appointments.
Requirements
- Must be thorough, diligent and consistent.
- Must be responsible and willing to provide in-person (virtual) and real time feedback to students.
- Students should have a thorough understanding of the Quebec Education Program particularly the Physical Education and Health curriculum.
- Must be authorized to work in Canada.
- Must be willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based / located.
- Must have English communication skills both verbally and in writing.
Responsibilities
- Administering, conducting and organization of laboratories.
- Grade labs and assignments.
- Assist in grading course quizzes and exams
- Responsible for assessing students' peer- and self-evaluations of project deliverables throughout the semester, offering feedback on their project progress, and assisting the instructor with in-class exercises.
