About The Position

This posting is for up to two unionized contractual appointments for a Teaching Assistant position in the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education for the course EDKP 492: Talent Identification and Development in Sports. The Teaching Assistant is a Graduate Student employed to assist the Course Supervisor in a classroom environment. The role involves evaluating students' term assignments and final exams, providing feedback on a case study about developing an empirically driven talent identification and development system, and offering real-time feedback (via forum or virtual meetings) to students on their assignments or course content when they have questions. The total hours of work per term are estimated at 60.

Requirements

  • Must be thorough, diligent, and consistent.
  • Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Physical and Health Education, Psychology or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of determinants of sport performance.
  • Strong interest in high-performance sports.
  • Working knowledge of motor and psychological development.
  • Strong writer and communicator.
  • Strong critical thinking.
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada.
  • Willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based.
  • Proficiency in English communication, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluation of students' term assignments and final exams.
  • Providing feedback on a case study concerning the development of an empirically driven talent identification and development system.
  • Offering real-time feedback (forum or virtual meetings) to students throughout the semester regarding term assignments or course content when questions arise.
