About The Position
Brock University is seeking a Teaching Assistant for NUSC 3P02, Advanced Nursing Topics 2, for the Fall D2 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 employee group. The role involves scheduled contact time with students, leading seminars and activities, and non-classroom responsibilities such as preparing materials, student consultation, marking, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration. Requirements
- Current registration as Registered Nurse (RN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students
- Punctual in attending classes
- Able to meet appropriate deadlines
- Comfortable delivering a range of interactive learning formats across the course's obstetric, pediatric, informatics, and professional-practice content, including role plays and handovers, card-sort and clinical-judgment games, health-data analysis, and case-based discussion, using the provided facilitation guides and answer keys to keep content accurate and consistent across sections
- Strong group facilitation skills
- Strong time management skills
- Strong assessment skills
Responsibilities

- Screening a recorded lecture

- Circulating and prompting during small-group work
- Managing timed activity rounds
- Leading debriefs
- Fairly grading weekly student participation and activity performance in Brightspace
