About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Course Coordinator for NUSC 3P02 - Advanced Nursing Topics 2 for the Fall D2 term. This position reports to the Department Chair or Course Instructor and involves overseeing seminar, tutorial, and simulation/lab sections. The role includes coordinating Teaching Assistants/Lab Demonstrators, assisting in the preparation of marking schemes, coordinating the marking of written assignments and weekly participation grades, and other related duties as required by the course instructor. The nominal workload for this position is 120 hours. The position starts August 10, 2026, and ends December 31, 2026.

Requirements

  • A completed Master of Nursing (MN/MScN) degree or a recognized graduate degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Previous course coordination experience working in a large course with multiple sections.
  • Experience grading scholarly papers and other written course evaluations.
  • Familiarity with nursing simulation and lab-based learning, and with coordinating standardized, TA-led seminar delivery across multiple sections.

Nice To Haves

  • Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (or eligibility) is an asset, given the clinical and simulation content of the course.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate course communication by responding to student inquiries via email and/or LMS and posting announcements on the course LMS site.
  • Facilitate course evaluation measures by supporting readiness of in-person seminar and simulation sessions, coordinating documentation of missed sessions and accommodations, coordinating grading of written assignments and participation grades, and corresponding with students regarding missed assessments.
  • Coordinate the simulation and seminar components by confirming students complete required pre-simulation virtual work, supporting compliance with the Simulation Lab, and distributing and briefing TAs and facilitators on manuals and guides.
  • Support academic accommodations and medical absence verification by liaising with Student Accessibility Services (SAS) and course instructors, and validating and corresponding with students regarding Medical Self Declaration and Medical Verification Forms.
  • Prepare course materials/resources and maintain the course LMS site by liaising with EdTech for LMS site design, posting materials, and supporting the updating and formatting of course materials.
