About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Course Coordinator for NUSC 3P11 - Nursing Care of the Young Family for the Fall D2 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group). The nominal workload for this position is 60 hours. The position will begin Reporting to the Department Chair or Course Instructor, the duties and responsibilities of the Course Coordinator will be in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement. These include overseeing the seminar/tutorial/lab sections for a particular course; coordinating Teaching Assistants/Lab Demonstrators/Marker-Graders and holding meetings with them; assisting in the preparation of marking schemes and coordinating the marking of course assignments and/or midterm, progress and final exams; and any other related duties as may be required by the course instructor. The position starts August 10, 2026 and ends December 31, 2026.

Requirements

  • Previous course coordination experience working in a large course with multiple sections
  • Experience grading scholarly papers and other written course evaluations

Nice To Haves

  • A completed Master of Nursing (MN/MScN) degree or a recognized graduate degree in a related field is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate course communication by providing additional office hours, responding to student inquiries via email and/or LMS, and posting announcements on the course LMS site.
  • Facilitate course evaluation measures, including co-facilitating in-class case studies, formatting exam scripts, preparing for printing, and coordinating distribution/tracking of exam documents.
  • Invigilate exams and coordinate/administer make-up quizzes/exams.
  • Coordinate grading of exams and assignments, supporting consistency across multiple marker-graders/sections.
  • Correspond with students who have missed assignments, tests, and exams, assisting in the coordination of make-up assessments as approved by the course instructor.
  • Support academic accommodations and medical absence verification by liaising with Student Accessibility Services (SAS) and course instructors to coordinate academic accommodations for individual students.
  • Validate and correspond with students regarding Medical Self Declaration and Medical Verification Forms.
  • Prepare course materials/resources and maintain the course LMS site, including liaising with EdTech in course LMS site design and configuration.
  • Post materials/resources to the course LMS site and support updating, formatting, and editing course materials, including lesson plans, assignments, and assessments.

  • Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $23.30 per hour. (Rate effective September 1, 2026)
  • Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $36.67 per hour. (Rate effective September 1, 2026)
