About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) for NUSC 1P01 Fall D2 Nursing Fundamentals 1, a course with 120 nominal hours. The contract length is from August 10, 2026, to December 31, 2026. Requirements

  • A completed Master of Nursing (MN/MScN) degree or a recognized graduate degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Previous course coordination experience working in a large course with multiple sections.
  • Experience grading scholarly papers and other written course evaluations.
  • Part-time Graduate Students and Non-Students shall not accept any appointment which, taken together with all other appointments at the University, would cause the member to exceed the maximum number of regular hours (i.e. not overtime hours) allowable in a work week under the Employment Standards Act, as amended from time to time.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the seminar/tutorial/lab sections for a particular course.
  • Coordinating Teaching Assistants/Lab Demonstrators/Marker-Graders and holding meetings with them.
  • Assisting in the preparation of marking schemes and coordinating the marking of course assignments and/or midterm, progress and final exams.
  • Facilitate course communication by providing additional office hours, responding to student inquiries via email and/or LMS, and posting announcements on the course LMS site.
  • Facilitate course evaluation measures, including formatting exam scripts, preparing for printing, coordinating distribution/tracking of exam documents, invigilating exams, coordinating and administering make-up quizzes/exams, coordinating grading of exams and assignments to support consistency, and corresponding with students who have missed assessments.
  • Support academic accommodations and medical absence verification by liaising with Student Accessibility Services (SAS) and course instructors to coordinate academic accommodations and validating/corresponding with students regarding medical forms.
  • Prepare course materials/resources and maintain the course LMS site by liaising with EdTech for LMS site design and configuration, posting materials/resources to the LMS site, and supporting the updating, formatting, and editing of course materials.

Benefits

  • Compensation is paid according to qualifications: undergraduate rate ($23.30 per hour) for those without a 4-year honours or 3-year pass degree, and graduate rate ($36.67 per hour) for those with a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree (rates effective September 1, 2026).
