About The Position

Brock University is seeking Marker-Grader candidates for NUSC 1P03 Nursing Clinical Judgement & Skills for the Fall D2-1 term. Compensation for these positions is based on the employee's qualifications, with rates effective September 1, 2026. The role involves marking various student assignments and providing written feedback. Additionally, marker-graders may be asked to invigilate exams or enter grades into databases. This position is governed by the Collective Agreement for part-time Instructor, Teaching Assistant, Lab Demonstrator, Course Coordinator and Marker-Grader positions at Brock University.

Requirements

  • Must have completed first year in nursing (or equivalent in English) and attained a grade of 80% or higher.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven track record of working effectively with deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Marker/Grader experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
  • Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, whether it is due to substantive content, or to written communications, including spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization of the submission.
  • Invigilate mid-terms and examinations for this course, at the request of the course instructor.
  • Enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.
