About The Position
Brock University is seeking Marker-Grader positions for the ACTG 4P40 Fall D2 Tax Strategies for Planning & Decision Making course. These positions are paid according to the qualifications of the employee, with rates effective September 1, 2026. Compensation varies based on degree completion, ranging from First Year Complete ($19.00/hour) to Master’s Degree Complete ($36.00/hour). Please note that due to limited hours, not all positions may move beyond the posting stage, and positions are subject to course enrollments and budgetary approval. The Collective Agreement governs these part-time positions.
Requirements
- Must have completed ACTG 4P40 (or equivalent in English) and attained a grade of 80% or higher.
- Graduate of or Major in Accounting with a minimum major average of 75%.
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven track record of working effectively with deadlines.
Nice To Haves
- Previous Marker/Grader experience is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
- Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
- Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, including substantive content, written communications, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization.
- Potentially invigilate mid-terms and examinations for the course.
- Potentially enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.
