About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Course Coordinator for NUSC 3P80 - Nursing in Advanced and Altered Contexts 1 for the Fall D2 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 employee group. The nominal workload for this position is 128 hours. The Course Coordinator will report to the Department Chair or Course Instructor and will be responsible for overseeing seminar/tutorial/lab sections, coordinating Teaching Assistants/Lab Demonstrators/Marker-Graders, assisting in the preparation of marking schemes, and coordinating the marking of course assignments and exams.

Requirements

  • A completed Master of Nursing (MN/MScN) degree or a recognized graduate degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Previous course coordination experience working in a large course with multiple sections.
  • Experience grading scholarly papers and other written course evaluations.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate course communication, including corresponding with students regarding missed clinical placement days, coordinating medication administration remediation, responding to student inquiries, and posting announcements on the course LMS site.
  • Facilitate course evaluation measures, such as formatting exam scripts, invigilating exams, coordinating and administering make-up quizzes/exams, coordinating grading of exams and assignments, and corresponding with students about missed assessments.
  • Support academic accommodations and medical absence verification by liaising with Student Accessibility Services (SAS) and course instructors, and validating medical forms.
  • Prepare course materials/resources and maintain the course LMS site, including liaising with EdTech, posting materials, and supporting the updating, formatting, and editing of course materials.
