About The Position

Brock University is seeking to fill two Teaching Assistant positions for the MUSI 3P45 Game Music course for the Fall (D2) term. This course covers the history, analysis, and interpretation of game music, exploring the challenges of composing and studying music for different game genres, and how music contributes to meaning and player experience. The role involves lectures and labs, totaling 3 hours per week. The lecture is scheduled for Wednesday from 1900 to 2100, with two lab sections: Lab 1 on Thursday from 1330 to 1430, and Lab 2 on Thursday from 1430 to 1530. Compensation for these positions is based on the qualifications of the employee, with different hourly rates for those holding a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree versus those who do not. Additional duties beyond scheduled contact time will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.

Requirements

  • Completed Honours Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience designing sound or composing music for videogames
  • Fluency with audio middleware software
  • Excellent oral communication skills
