About The Position
This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) MUSI 3Y07 Integrated Musicianship III – Fall (D2). This is the third semester of training in musicianship skills through recognition and practical exercises, and a continuation of MUSI 2Y08. The course involves a lab component of 3 hours per week and will be delivered in-person on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM during the Fall (D2) term. Instructors employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.
Requirements
- Relevant Master of Music degree or equivalent professional experience
- Significant teaching experience in aural skills, sight-singing and keyboard harmony at the undergraduate level
- Demonstrated effectiveness of teaching through student or peer teaching evaluations, letters of recommendation, or equivalent documentation
- Demonstrated ability to use the BRIGHTSPACE online learning management system or equivalent systems in other institutions
Responsibilities
- Scheduled contact time with students
- Non-classroom time including preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration
- Handling grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty
