About The Position
This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) for the course: Theories of Popular Culture. The compensation for a half course is $7,471.08 and for a full course is $14,942.17, effective September 1, 2024. Instructors teaching a 2-hour/week lecture or equivalent are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.
Requirements
- PhD in Film, Communication, Media, or Cultural Studies (or related field)
- Demonstrated expertise in Cultural Theory and Popular Culture
- Demonstrated teaching experience in the area of Film, Communication, Media or Cultural Studies at the university level
- Expertise in online pedagogy and the use of learning management systems
Responsibilities
- Scheduled contact time with students
- Non-classroom time including preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration
- Handling grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty
