About The Position
This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for an Instructor for the course FILM 3P03, Adaptation Across Media, for the Fall term. The compensation is effective September 1, 2024, with a rate of $7,471.08 per half course (195 hours nominally) or $14,942.17 per full course (390 hours nominally). Instructors employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course. Requirements
- A PhD in Film, Communication, or Media Studies (or related field)
- Demonstrated expertise in the field of Adaptation Studies
- Demonstrated teaching experience in the areas of Film, Communication, or Media Studies at the university level
- Expertise in online pedagogy and the use of learning management systems
Responsibilities
- Scheduled contact time with students
- Non-classroom time including preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty.
