About The Position
This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) MUSI 2Y07 Integrated Musicianship I – Fall (D2). This course offers introductory training in core musicianship skills through recognition and practical exercises, focusing on the perception and production of pulse, metre, rhythm, intervals, tonality, scale degree, and harmony. It also aims to develop working memory and tuning. The course involves a lab component, meeting 3 hours per week for one term, delivered in-person on Wednesdays and Fridays from 0900 to 1030 during the Fall (D2) term.
Requirements
- Relevant Master of Music degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Significant teaching experience in aural skills, sight-singing and keyboard harmony at the undergraduate level.
- Demonstrated effectiveness of teaching through student or peer teaching evaluations, letters or recommendations, or equivalent documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to use the BRIGHTSPACE online learning management system or equivalent systems in other institutions.
Responsibilities
- Scheduled contact time with students
- Non-classroom time including preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration
- Handling grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty
