About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the GEOG 3P45 - Historical Geographies: Environment & Planning course for the Fall D2 term. This position is part of CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group). The role involves scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom duties such as preparing seminar material, student consultation, marking, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration. Compensation varies based on the employee's degree qualifications, with rates of $23.30 per hour for those without a 4-year honours or 3-year pass degree, and $36.67 per hour for those who hold such degrees. Additional duties will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.

Requirements

Must be enrolled in or have completed a postgraduate degree or have completed a Honours Degree in Human Geography or equivalent.
Completion of 4 full credits in Human Geography with an overall average of 75% or higher in all Human Geography courses completed is required (or equivalent).
Completion of the course for which the applicant wishes to be a teaching assistant with a final grade of 75% or higher in that course (or equivalent).
Demonstrated successful undergraduate teaching experience or equivalent small group leadership in an undergraduate context.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize work and meet stipulated deadlines.
