About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Teaching Assistant in GEOG 3P07 - Remote Sensing for the Fall D2 term at Brock University. Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds. Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $23.30 per hour. Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $36.67 per hour. In cases where additional duties are required as part of a Teaching Assistant’s duties, these hours shall be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.

Requirements

Must be enrolled in or have completed a postgraduate degree or have completed a Honours Degree in Geography or equivalent.
Completion of 4 full credits in Geography with an overall average of 75% or higher in all Geography courses completed is required (or equivalent).
Completion of the course for which the applicant wishes to be a teaching assistant with a final grade of 75% or higher in that course (or equivalent).
Demonstrated successful undergraduate teaching experience in remote sensing or equivalent small group leadership in an undergraduate context.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize work and meet stipulated deadlines.
Knowledge of geomatics, experience with geomatics software (e.g., Google Earth Engine, QGIS, or ENVI).
