About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the GEOG 3P21 - Qualitative Research Design and Methodology course for the Fall D2 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 employee group. The role involves scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom duties such as preparing seminar material, student consultation, marking, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration. Compensation is based on qualifications, with an undergraduate rate of $23.30 per hour and a graduate rate of $36.67 per hour (effective September 1, 2026). Additional duties will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.

Requirements

Must be enrolled in or have completed a postgraduate degree or have completed a Honours Degree In Geography or equivalent.
If vacancies remain, students enrolled in an Honours Program (completed 13 or more credits) in Geography or equivalent will be considered.
Completion of 4 full credits in Geography with an overall average of 75% or higher in all Geography courses completed is required (or equivalent).
Completion of GEOG 2P10 (or equivalent) with a final grade of 75% or higher.
Demonstrated successful undergraduate teaching experience or equivalent small group leadership in an undergraduate context.
Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize work and meet stipulated deadlines.
Experience conducting qualitative analysis.
