About The Position

This posting is for a New Position for the Fall 2026 semester in the Faculty of Social Sciences, School of International Development and Global Studies. The specific course is DVM3525 A00: Politiques environnementales, gestion des ressources naturelles et développement durable. The position is classified as Teaching Assistant/Demonstrator/Lab Monitor (CUPE). The work is to be performed on the Main Campus. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. Undergraduate students will be paid at a rate of $31.89/hour, while graduate students will be paid at $50.25/hour (2024-2025 rates, subject to change upon ratification of a new collective agreement). These rates do not include vacation or statutory pay. Retroactive pay will be applied after ratification. All courses for the Fall 2026 session are offered in person. The nature of the work involves tasks such as facilitating discussion groups, grading assignments and exams, consulting with students, and proctoring exams. All assistants are expected to be physically present on campus to perform their duties. The teaching mode may change due to health or other reasons. Some professors may require assistants to attend classes, so it is important to check course schedules to avoid conflicts.

Requirements

• 54 university credits including DVM 2505, DVM 2506
• Knowledge and interest in international development and globalization
• Ease of communication in French
• Availability to be physically present on campus to perform all duties
• Ability to check course schedules to avoid conflicts
