About The Position

This posting is for a Teaching Assistant position for the course DVM3550: Méthodes et techniques de recherche qualitatives axées sur le travail de terrain en dévelop. intern. (Qualitative research methods and techniques focused on field work in international development). The course covers specific methodological questions in research in developing regions, examining qualitative aspects of data analysis and collection with an emphasis on participatory research methods and exploring research implications in a power structure context. The course is a lecture-based course with a prerequisite of SCS 2550. All Fall 2026 courses are offered in person. The nature of the work involves various tasks such as facilitating discussion groups, grading assignments and exams, consulting with students, and proctoring exams. Requirements

  • Knowledge and interest in international development and globalization
  • Ease of communication in French
  • Must be available to be physically present on campus to carry out all duties
  • Must verify course schedules to avoid timetable conflicts
  • Must successfully complete all mandatory legislated training offered by the University

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in facilitating groups
  • Experience as a teaching assistant and/or grader
  • Interest and/or experience in experiential learning
  • Willingness to attend training sessions on experiential learning (late August or late December)
