About The Position

This posting is for a Teaching Assistant position for the course DVM 3750: Théories actuelles du développement international (Current Theories of International Development) during the Fall 2026 semester. The course covers current theories in international development, including human development and capabilities, neo-institutionalism, postcolonialism, post-development, and political ecology, with links to current feminist theories. The course is a lecture-based format and requires students to have completed DVM 2505, DVM 2506, and 48 university credits. The course schedule is Mondays from 13:00-14:20 and Wednesdays from 11:30-12:50. All courses for the Fall 2026 session are offered in person. The nature of the work involves various tasks such as facilitating discussion groups, grading assignments and exams, consulting with students, and proctoring exams. All teaching assistants are expected to be physically present on campus to perform their duties. The mode of instruction may change due to health or other reasons. Some professors may expect their assistants to attend classes, so applicants should check course schedules to avoid conflicts. All University of Ottawa employees must complete mandatory legislated training. Applicants requiring adaptive measures during the selection process should notify the university.
