About The Position

This posting is for a Teaching Assistant (TA) position for the course GNG5301 A, Professional Skills and Responsibility, during the Fall 2026 semester. The role involves supporting students in the course, primarily through contact with students and grading. The position is governed by the CUPE 2626 collective agreement. Requirements

  • Previous grade of A or better in a similar graduate course or workshop series is preferred.
  • Completion of a significant project or internship or volunteer work related to their degree is preferred.
  • Attend a TA workshop if necessary.
  • Experience and active involvement in engineering clubs or organizations where mentoring or tutoring students in technical or professional skills.
  • Knowledge will need to be demonstrated during an interview.
  • Must have been trained and registered as a volunteer with the Center for Entrepreneurship and Engineering Design.

Responsibilities

  • Contact with students: 56 hours
  • Grading: 64 hours
  • Proctoring mid-term and final exam: 10 hours
