About The Position

This posting is for a Teaching Assistant (TA) position for the Applied Biostatistics Lab (EPI-5101) during the 2026 Fall Semester. The TA will be responsible for leading lab activities, reviewing course material, assisting in the development and review of lab materials and assessments, managing the Brightspace discussion forum, meeting with students, and grading final assessments. The total expected work hours are 95.

Requirements

• Demonstrated knowledge of, and direct expertise with, R (required) and other statistical programs (an asset) to design an analytical strategy for health data, implement it, and interpret the output.
• Must be able to perform descriptive analysis, parameter estimation and hypothesis testing as well as nonparametric tests, power calculation and regression modeling.
• Advanced critical appraisal and communication skills.
• Experience being able to tailor communication of statistical concepts and programming strategies to learners with varied levels of expertise.

Nice To Haves

• Previous completion of EPI 5242 or PBH 5107 within the past 2 years with a high average is considered an asset.
• Other statistical programs (an asset)
