About The Position

The Teacher Advisory Panel (TAP) is a two-year stipend position for teachers who wish to serve as representatives for the teacher body and school site. TAP members will meet four times throughout the year to represent teachers' needs, actively solicit and bring concerns to the panel, and promote solutions. They will also share updates from the panel with their school site and meet regularly with site leadership to provide feedback and discuss update dissemination methods.

Requirements

  • Has an open-minded approach to continual improvement
  • Is able to consistently attend monthly meetings after school
  • Uses solutions-oriented communication
  • Knows how to put together a presentation or other methods for sharing updates
  • Willingness to communicate with staff regularly and listen to their input
  • Willing to challenge individual or shared beliefs that do not support a shared vision for student success
  • Must have their cameras on during remote meetings
  • Must be in a quiet, private space conducive to active participation during remote meetings
  • Must attend all specified meetings, assigned professional development sessions, and designated work sessions
  • Must attend meetings on time and complete work by required deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a representative for the teacher body and school site
  • Meets 4 times throughout the year on an “Advisory Panel” to represent teachers’ needs
  • Actively solicits and brings the concerns of the school and teacher body to the panel with the desire to promote solutions
  • Shares updates from the “Advisory Panel” with the school site with a consistent method
  • Meets regularly with site leadership to deliver site-specific feedback and to determine best methods for sharing updates

Benefits

  • Two-year stipend position
  • Stipend paid in monthly installments
  • Stipend amount is $800 per year on top of teaching salary
