About The Position

This role is for internal applicants only and is for a SART (Student Attendance Review Team) Member for the 2026-2027 school year. The team will meet at least once per week to review attendance data, discuss absences and tardies, review documentation, understand reasons for absenteeism, gather input from staff and families, and develop Attendance Improvement Plans. The role involves setting attendance goals, determining interventions, identifying additional supports, and establishing a monitoring and follow-up plan. Roles will be determined based on applicants and school needs. Stipends will be split into monthly payments. For non-exempt hourly employees, compensation will be an additional per hour amount up to the stipend amount.

Requirements

  • Internal applicants only.
  • Must be certificated or classified staff.
  • Active and full participation is required.
  • Must attend all specified meetings, assigned professional development sessions, and designated work sessions.
  • Abide by general professional guidelines, such as attending meetings on time and completing work by required deadlines.
  • Employees who do not meet participation expectations may be removed from their roles.

Responsibilities

  • Meet at least once per week.
  • Review attendance data, including total absences, tardies, and patterns.
  • Review documentation such as letters sent home, attendance contracts, and prior interventions.
  • Work to understand reasons for absenteeism (e.g., academic struggles, health issues, family problems, transportation barriers, school climate).
  • Gather input from teachers, counselors, and the family.
  • Discuss any behavior or social-emotional concerns, if appropriate.
  • Develop an Attendance Improvement Plan with clear, measurable attendance goals.
  • Determine specific interventions (e.g., mentoring, academic support, transportation assistance, family outreach).
  • Identify additional supports (e.g., referral to social services, family counseling, community programs).
  • Establish a monitoring and follow-up plan, assigning specific responsibilities to team members.
  • Set up a system for regular progress checks (e.g., weekly or biweekly attendance tracking).
  • Schedule the next SART meetings.
