Talent Acquisition Partner

Plug Technologies Inc•Los Angeles, CA
•$130,000 - $150,000•Onsite

About The Position

Plug is hiring a Talent Acquisition Partner to own full-lifecycle recruiting across engineering, machine learning, and go-to-market functions. This is a hands-on role on a lean People team without dedicated sourcers, coordinators, or a separate closing function. The Talent Acquisition Partner runs searches from kickoff through accepted offer, carries 8–12 open requisitions across multiple hiring managers, and helps shape the company’s hiring approach. The role reports to the VP of HR and has a dotted-line relationship with the Senior Recruiter for day-to-day search partnership and calibration. The successful candidate will prioritize recruiting work according to business urgency, partner with hiring managers on search plans and market realities, source candidates proactively, maintain recruiting workflows and reporting in Ashby, and improve candidate and interviewer experiences. The position is in person at Plug’s Sawtelle office in Los Angeles. Applicants must already be based in the Los Angeles area; relocation assistance and sponsorship are not available. Plug is an automotive fintech startup building an EV-focused marketplace for consumers, dealers, and commercial partners.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of full-lifecycle recruiting experience in a high-growth technology environment.
  • Demonstrated ownership of searches from intake through close without a sourcer or coordinator handling parts of the process.
  • Recruiting experience across both technical and go-to-market roles, including engineering or machine learning and sales, operations, or marketing.
  • Hands-on Ashby experience building and maintaining workflows, templates, and reporting.
  • Strong sourcing skills, including directly finding and engaging passive candidates.
  • Experience advising hiring managers on leveling, compensation, and search strategy, with the confidence to disagree when appropriate.
  • Comfort working on a lean team and handling multiple responsibilities, including recruiting coordination.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to represent Plug credibly to senior candidates and provide hiring managers with direct, useful feedback.
  • Currently based in the Los Angeles area and able to work onsite in Sawtelle.

Nice To Haves

  • Recruiting experience in a marketplace, consumer, or two-sided platform business.
  • Experience building or delivering interviewer training.
  • Exposure to employer branding or talent marketing.
  • Experience in a small or scaling talent acquisition function rather than a large, highly specialized organization.

Responsibilities

  • Own full-lifecycle recruiting, including intake and launch meetings, sourcing strategy, screening, interview loops, debriefs, offer construction, negotiation, and closing.
  • Prioritize a portfolio of 8–12 open requisitions according to business urgency.
  • Lead structured hiring-manager kickoffs to align on role scope, requirements, sourcing strategy, interview panels, and timelines.
  • Advise hiring managers on market realities, leveling, compensation, and search strategy, and challenge plans that are unlikely to work.
  • Keep interview panels engaged and accountable through weekly pipeline reviews.
  • Source candidates proactively through direct outreach, referrals, and market mapping; build pipelines for recurring and hard-to-fill roles.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate sourcing, screening, and market research, and help assess which approaches are effective.
  • Design structured interview loops with clear rubrics and scorecards, coach interviewers on evidence-based interviewing, and facilitate timely, clear debrief decisions.
  • Own compensation conversations and close offers in partnership with hiring managers.
  • Manage candidate touchpoints, including outreach, scheduling, feedback, rejections, and offers, and identify and address candidate-experience friction.
  • Keep Ashby accurate and current and share funnel metrics with hiring managers and leadership.
  • Contribute to interviewer training and new-hire onboarding as Plug’s processes mature.
