About The Position

At Flanigan’s, Takeout/Food Runners help create a warm, friendly guest experience by serving guests and supporting fellow employees. The role includes entering orders into the POS system, retrieving food and drinks from the kitchen or bar, delivering orders promptly, processing guest payments, and assisting with table appearance and other service needs.

Takeout/Food Runners also pack and verify ToGo orders with guests, greet guests at the curbside pickup area, perform shift changes and opening or closing duties, and complete assigned sidework. Employees must follow company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training, know the food and beverage menus and current promotions, and clearly answer guest questions. The position requires standing and walking throughout the shift, frequent reaching, bending, and stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Flexible hours and work in a fast-paced environment are required.

Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for 100% of the shift.
• Ability to reach, bend, and stoop frequently.
• Ability to deliver plates and clear tables of plates and glasses, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks and notes.
• Complete and pass the Florida Responsible Vendor program in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes.
• Complete and pass a food safety certification program in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training.
• Support fellow employees with maintaining table appearance and running food and drinks as needed.
• Know food and beverage menus, current promotions, and specials, and clearly answer guest questions.
• Accurately enter orders into the POS system.
• Retrieve food and drink orders from the kitchen or bar and deliver them to guests promptly.
• Collect guest payments by credit card, cash, or gift card; process transactions accurately using the POS system and deliver correct change promptly.
• Perform shift changes, opening and closing duties, and assigned sidework.
• Pack and verify ToGo orders with the guest.
• Greet guests at the curbside pickup area.
