About The Position

The Takeout/Food Runner supports restaurant service by assisting fellow employees with table appearance and food and drink running as needed. The role requires knowledge of food and beverage menus, promotions, and specials; accurate order entry and payment processing using the POS system; and timely delivery of orders to guests. The employee also packs and verifies ToGo orders with guests and greets guests at the curbside pickup area. Shift changes, opening and closing duties, assigned sidework, and compliance with safety and sanitation procedures are part of the position.

Requirements

• Able to stand and walk for 100% of the shift.
• Able to reach, bend, and stoop frequently.
• Able to deliver plates and clear tables of plates and glasses, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks and notes.
• Complete and pass the Florida Responsible Vendor program in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes.
• Complete and pass the food safety certification program in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training.
• Support fellow employees with table appearance and food and drink running as needed.
• Know food and beverage menus, items, promotions, and specials, and clearly answer guests’ questions.
• Accurately enter orders into the POS system.
• Retrieve food and drink orders from the kitchen or bar and deliver them to guests in a timely manner.
• Collect guest payments by credit card, cash, or gift card; use the POS efficiently to ensure transactions are correct; and calculate and deliver correct change promptly.
• Perform shift changes, opening and closing duties, and assigned sidework.
• Pack and verify all ToGo orders with the guest.
• Greet guests at the curbside pickup area.
