About The Position

Hosts are the first smiling face guests see when they enter a Flanigan’s and often the last as they leave. The Host sets the tone for the guest experience by greeting guests warmly, escorting them to tables, managing seating flow, answering inquiries, and saying goodbye as guests depart. The role calls for a friendly, hospitable team member who maintains a neat, clean, professional image and a cheerful, courteous temperament.

Requirements

• Able to reach, bend, and stoop frequently.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Complete and pass the Florida Responsible Vendor program in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes.
• Complete and pass the food safety certification program in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a cheerful, courteous temperament and a neat, clean, professional image.
• Greet guests using Flanigan’s “Smile Talk.”
• Engage guests in “Smile Talk” while escorting them to their table in a timely manner.
• Efficiently manage the wait list for seating.
• Communicate guests’ questions or concerns to the Manager on duty.
• Keep the foyer, host/hostess station, and waiting area clean and free of debris; restock and clean menus.
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests.
• Answer the telephone within four rings, answer guests’ questions, and/or direct guests to the appropriate staff member.
• Conclude guests’ visits with Flanigan’s “Smile Talk.”
• Perform shift changes, opening and closing duties, and assigned side work.
