About The Position

The Host is the first smiling face guests see when entering Flanigan’s and often the last as they leave. The role sets the tone for the guest experience by offering a warm welcome, escorting guests to tables, managing seating flow and the wait list, responding to inquiries, and saying goodbye to guests. Hosts are expected to be friendly and hospitable, maintain a neat and professional appearance, and help keep guest areas clean and stocked.

Requirements

Frequently reach, bend, and stoop.
Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Be able to speak, read, and write English.
Complete and pass the Florida Responsible Vendor program in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes.
Complete and pass the food safety certification program in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes.

Responsibilities

Maintain a cheerful and courteous temperament and a neat, clean, professional image.
Greet guests using Flanigan’s “Smile Talk.”
Engage guests in “Smile Talk” while escorting them to their table in a timely manner.
Efficiently manage the wait list for seating.
Communicate guests’ questions or concerns to the Manager on duty.
Keep the foyer, host/hostess station, and wait area clean and free of debris; restock and clean menus.
Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests.
Answer the telephone within four rings, answer guests’ questions, and/or direct guests to the appropriate staff member.
Conclude guests’ visits using Flanigan’s “Smile Talk.”
Perform shift changes, opening and closing duties, and assigned sidework.
