About The Position

At Flanigan’s, servers help create a warm, friendly dining experience by welcoming and guiding guests, taking and serving orders, and attending to the details of each meal. They work with fellow employees to maintain table appearance and support food and drink service, while following company safety, sanitation, and procedural training.

Requirements

• Able to stand and walk for 100% of the shift.
• Able to reach, bend, and stoop frequently.
• Able to deliver plates and clear tables of plates and glasses, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks and notes.
• Complete and pass the Florida Responsible Vendor program in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes.
• Complete and pass a food safety certification program in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training.
• Support fellow employees with table appearance and running food and drinks as needed.
• Know Food & Beverage menus and items, current promotions, and specials, and clearly answer guests’ questions.
• Accurately write down guests’ orders and enter them into the POS system in a timely manner.
• Retrieve food and drink orders from the kitchen or bar and deliver them to guests in a timely manner.
• Assess guests’ demeanor and identify when to summon a Manager.
• Collect guest payments by credit card, cash, or gift card; process transactions correctly using the POS system; calculate and deliver correct change in a timely manner.
• Perform shift changes, opening and closing duties, and assigned sidework.
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests.
