About The Position

Sunrise #85 is seeking a bartender for its family-run restaurant. Bartenders serve drinks and food to guests, maintain a clean and stocked bar, process orders and payments, and provide cheerful, courteous service. The restaurant serves continuously from opening until late night and welcomes guests from the local community and beyond.

Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for 100% of the shift.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, stir, wipe, and shake drinks vigorously.
• Ability to immerse hands in water frequently.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks and notes.
• Complete and pass the Florida Responsible Vendor program in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes.
• Complete and pass the food safety certification Vendor program in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes.
• Ability to request proper identification and manually calculate and determine guests’ ages.

Responsibilities

• Follow company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training.
• Mix liquor and drink ingredients according to company recipes and measures.
• Serve guests cheerfully and courteously while maintaining a neat, clean, professional image.
• Maintain a neat, clean, properly stocked bar.
• Verify correct drink pricing.
• Serve food according to the requirements in the Server Job Description.
• Know drink promotions and specials and answer guests’ questions clearly.
• Enter orders accurately and promptly into the POS system.
• Assess guests’ demeanor, identify intoxicated guests, and determine when to summon a Manager.
• Collect payments by credit card, cash, or gift card; use the POS system efficiently to ensure transactions are correct and deliver the correct change promptly.
• Perform shift changes, opening and closing duties, and assigned sidework.
