About The Position

The Host is the first and last point of contact for guests at Flanigan’s, setting the tone for their visit through a warm, welcoming greeting and courteous service. The role helps guests reach their tables, manages seating flow and the wait list, responds to inquiries, and communicates guest questions or concerns to the manager on duty. Hosts also maintain clean guest areas, menus, and restrooms; answer and direct telephone inquiries; and complete shift-change, opening, closing, and sidework duties.

Requirements

• Can reach, bend, and stoop frequently.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Complete and pass the Florida Responsible Vendor program in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes.
• Complete and pass the food safety certification program in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a cheerful, courteous temperament and a neat, clean professional image.
• Greet guests using Flanigan’s “Smile Talk.”
• Engage guests using “Smile Talk” while escorting them to their tables in a timely manner.
• Efficiently manage the wait list and seating flow.
• Communicate guest questions or concerns to the manager on duty.
• Keep the foyer, host/hostess station, and waiting area clean and free of debris; restock and clean menus.
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests.
• Answer the telephone within four rings, respond to guest questions, and/or direct guests to the appropriate staff member.
• Conclude guests’ visits using Flanigan’s “Smile Talk.”
• Perform shift changes, opening and closing duties, and assigned sidework.
