About The Position

The Host is the first and last point of contact for guests, helping create a warm and welcoming experience. The role includes greeting and escorting guests, managing seating flow and the wait list, responding to inquiries, and communicating guest questions or concerns to the manager on duty. Hosts also maintain clean and stocked guest areas, answer telephone calls, and complete shift changes, opening and closing duties, and assigned sidework.

Requirements

• Frequently reach, bend, and stoop.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Complete and pass the Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes.
• Complete and pass the food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a cheerful, courteous temperament and a neat, clean, professional image.
• Greet guests and engage them using Flanigan’s “Smile Talk.”
• Escort guests to their tables in a timely manner.
• Efficiently manage the wait list and seating.
• Communicate guests’ questions or concerns to the manager on duty.
• Keep the foyer, host/hostess station, and wait area clean and free of debris; restock and clean menus.
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests.
• Answer telephone calls within four rings, respond to guests’ questions, and/or direct them to the appropriate staff member.
• Conclude guests’ visits with Flanigan’s “Smile Talk.”
• Perform shift changes, opening and closing duties, and assigned sidework.
