About The Position

The Takeout/Food Runner supports guests and fellow employees by running food and drinks, maintaining table appearance, and assisting with takeout and curbside pickup. The role requires knowledge of food and beverage menus, promotions, and specials; clear communication with guests; and accurate order entry and payment processing through the POS system. The employee retrieves orders from the kitchen or bar and delivers them promptly, packs and verifies takeout orders with guests, and greets guests at curbside pickup. The role also includes shift changes, opening and closing duties, assigned sidework, and following company safety and sanitation policies and procedures. The position involves working in a fast-paced environment and being available for flexible hours.

Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for 100% of the shift.
• Ability to reach, bend, and stoop frequently.
• Ability to deliver plates and clear tables of plates and glasses, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks and notes.
• Complete and pass the Florida Responsible Vendor program in compliance with Flanigan’s requirements and Florida statutes.
• Complete and pass the food safety certification program in compliance with Flanigan’s requirements and Florida statutes.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training.
• Support fellow employees with maintaining table appearance and running food and drinks as needed.
• Know food and beverage menus, items, promotions, and specials, and clearly answer guests’ questions.
• Accurately enter orders into the POS system.
• Retrieve food and drink orders from the kitchen or bar and deliver them to guests promptly.
• Collect guest payments by credit card, cash, or gift card; use the POS efficiently to ensure accurate transactions and provide correct change promptly.
• Perform shift changes, opening and closing duties, and assigned sidework.
• Pack and verify all takeout orders with the guest.
• Greet guests at the curbside pickup area.
