Systems Engineer, Network

Vercel is seeking Infrastructure Engineers to help improve their product and customer experience by scaling and improving their infrastructure, availability, and reliability. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in software engineering and be familiar with Cloud Services, Node.js, Terraform, or Kubernetes. The role is dynamic and requires designing systems, writing code, and debugging systems in production. • Help to scale and improve Vercel's infrastructure, availability, and reliability
• Work closely with backend engineers and product team to identify problems, create tooling and automation
• Design systems, write code, and debug systems in production
• Orchestrate deployment, serving and hosting for customers through capabilities and tooling
• Leverage own and other cloud providers' infrastructure for networking, routing, storage, caching and purging
• Protect the Vercel platform from abuse - security is a top priority
• Experiment, challenge norms and deliver secure, reliable and performant systems that delight Vercel's users
• Have deep experience with how to make systems scale in the cloud
• Knowledgeable and experienced with web servers, network protocols, standards and deviations
• Comfortable in typescript, golang. Lua experience is nice-to-have.

• Solid background in software engineering
• Familiarity with Cloud Services (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud, or others), Node.js, Terraform, or Kubernetes
• Comfortable designing systems, writing code, and debugging systems in production
• Knowledgeable and experienced with web servers, network protocols, standards and deviations
• Comfortable in typescript, golang. Lua experience is nice-to-have
• Intrigued by the challenges faced by building other engineer's code
• Deep experience with how to make systems scale in the cloud
• Keen to experiment, challenge norms and deliver secure, reliable and performant systems that delight Vercel's users
• Want to help protect the Vercel platform from abuse - security is a top priority
• Next.js or React expertise is a bonus, but not required.
