About The Position

The Switchboard Operator / Receptionist performs the functions necessary at the reception desk and switchboard. The role supports a strong commitment to world-class customer service and helps ensure a pleasant and productive shopping experience for customers. The position performs its duties under general supervision using established procedures and innovation, with occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and opportunities to recommend changes to work procedures, policies, and practices.

This is a part-time position. Bass Pro Shops accepts applications on an ongoing basis.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change for customers.
• Ability to communicate with customers and associates in a friendly and professional manner.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Management, coworkers, and customers.
• Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system and computerized PBX system.

Responsibilities

• Answer and direct incoming phone calls promptly and in a friendly, outgoing manner.
• Handle customer and associate questions and requests.
• Distribute applications to prospective new associates.
• Coordinate and schedule appointments for Management.
• File, copy, and perform other clerical assignments as needed.
• Maintain associate bulletin boards, ensure they are current, and post schedules.
• Remain familiar with the store layout and knowledgeable about products, advertised sales, and special events.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and well stocked with supplies.
• Follow all Company Policies and Procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
