About The Position

Spring View Regional Hospital is hiring a full-time Surgical Technician for its Surgery Department. This role works a Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. day schedule in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on safe, high-quality patient care. The Surgical Technician prepares and maintains a sterile surgical environment, assists surgeons during procedures, performs surgical counts, handles specimens, and cleans, sterilizes, and restocks instruments and operating rooms.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential, or eligibility to obtain it within a specified timeframe.
• Current BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Six months of on-the-job experience in a healthcare facility.
• Knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical procedures, and instrumentation.
• Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Strong critical-thinking skills and sound, decisive judgment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment and take appropriate action in urgent or high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical environment, including instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating surgical needs.
• Perform surgical counts of instruments, sponges, and supplies to ensure patient safety.
• Handle, label, and maintain specimens according to protocol.
• Clean, sterilize, and restock surgical instruments and operating rooms following procedures.
