Surgical Technician - OR (per diem)
About The Position
Beth Israel Deaconess Milton’s Operating Room is a close-knit team committed to providing exceptional, personalized care. The department has seven operating rooms for elective procedures Monday through Friday, with night and weekend on-call teams for urgent cases. Services include orthopedics, robotics, OTO-HNS, plastics, gynecology, genitourinary, general, vascular, and neurology. The department handles both inpatient and outpatient cases and has an experienced PACU team. Operating Room Surgical Technologists are integral members of the surgical team, working closely with surgeons, anesthesia staff, and registered nurses to deliver quality patient care. They perform technical and other specialized, limited duties related to the surgical patient. This is a per diem position with day shifts, rotating weekday on-call, and weekend call requirements. Shift options are 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited school for operating room technicians.
- Staff must be vaccinated against influenza as a condition of employment.
- Availability for rotating weekday on-call and weekend call requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform technical and other specialized, limited duties relative to the surgical patient.
- Work closely with surgeons, the anesthesia team, and registered nurses to deliver quality patient care.
