About The Position
The Certified Surgical Technician facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures at Frye Regional Medical Center. The role prepares the operating suite and supports surgical procedures through scrub-technician duties and the use of aseptic technique. The technician helps maintain efficient operating-room workflows, an organized work area, and readiness across at least three specialty areas.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Certification in Surgical Technology through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
- Competency in at least three specialty areas.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Ensure equipment and instruments are in good working order.
- Perform the role of the scrub technician.
- Use aseptic technique principles to establish and maintain a sterile field.
- Facilitate efficient completion of the surgery schedule.
- Maintain an organized work area and participate in daily unit duties.
- Maintain competency in at least three specialty areas.
